  1. 01 Role

Product Strategy, UX/UI Design & Development

  2. 02 Key decision / tradeoff

Make the end of the feed part of the product: show chosen connections in chronological order, provide an explicit caught-up state, and keep personal posts free of engagement ranking and paid boosts.

  3. 03 Collaboration boundary

An OMIKINA product connecting John's product strategy, interface design, and hands-on development with AI-assisted programming. Membership applications and reports are reviewed by the project operator.

  4. 04 Current evidence

The public welcome page and guided demo were verified live on September 13, 2026, when these screenshots were captured. Member features are documented in the current implementation and beta release record; the demo uses sample content and resets on refresh.

How the work took shape

Connection with a stopping point

Disocia starts with an everyday tension: keeping up with people can become an open-ended task. The product gives that activity a boundary. Posts appear newest first, the reader chooses whom to follow, and the feed ends when there is nothing more to catch up on.

The central interaction is the caught-up state. It acknowledges completion and gives people a natural place to leave. Personal posts have no engagement ranking or paid boosts, so the reading order stays understandable.

A familiar feed, deliberate controls

The working beta supports text and photo posts, follows, comments, replies, and likes. Following brings together the member’s own posts and updates from chosen people; Circle shows the approved community. Both feeds are finite and chronological.

Participation controls sit alongside those familiar interactions. Members can mute an account privately, block interactions and content access in both directions, report a post, or remove a thread they started. Account export and deletion provide a way to leave with a clear next step.

A visual identity that makes room

Evergreen ink, warm paper, and clay accents give Disocia a restrained visual identity. Expressive serif headlines pair with readable interface text, while an open-loop mark holds two connected dots. Generous spacing helps the posts and people remain the focus.

The welcome page carries the same premise into the first visit. A short explanation, visible access requirements, and a guided demo let visitors understand the product before applying for membership.

Public discovery, reviewed membership

Disocia is live at disocia.com. Adults 18+ can use a Google account to request beta access; the project operator reviews applications before membership opens. Member posts, profiles, conversations, and photos remain behind sign-in and membership checks.

The public guided demo uses sample people and posts, with changes that reset on refresh. Nearby and Topics are demo concepts. The case study’s demo screenshot documents that exploration experience; the beta guide explains the member features currently available.

The project brings product strategy, brand identity, interaction design, and implementation together around one testable premise: a social feed can have a satisfying end. The current beta demonstrates the product; its effect on people’s habits remains to be measured.
